Lightbox Radiology Education supports Mac users and Windows users throughout our courses. Each course we provide a USB stick with the course notes and interactive media that is supported by Mac OS and Apple computers. In our PACS based workshops we recommend using the PACS viewer of choice for case review. We will provide you a copy on the USB however to make the most of the course, it is recommended that you download and install OsiriX before the course to familiarise yourself with the software.

OsiriX requires MacOS 10.7 or higher and a minimum of 1GB of RAM.
2. Install the package
You can install the package by double clicking the package that you downloaded in part one. You will need to agree to the terms and licence of OsiriX to use the software.
3. Open Application
Once the package is installed, you can open it by opening:
Finder -> Applications -> OsiriX
OsiriX will be listed alphabetically with the icon:
4. Import the Cases
Click the button called "Import" and navigate to the USB provided. Select the Module that is being reviewed and then the DICOM or CASES folder that is listed. Click OPEN.

5. Open the first case
Click and open the series you wish to view:
Common Tools:
1. Open two images side by side
When opening the case, select two series (using the command button) then right click and select "View Images"
2. Window the image
There are two ways to window an image in OsiriX. You can use the preselected window widths and levels on the drop down menu (right arrow) or manually window the series using the arrow tool (on the left arrow).
