X-Ray - Emergency Interpretation

About this course

Course cost: $220

A systematic review of the fundamental principles in emergency X-Ray interpretation.

The goal of the course is to provide practitioners with the knowledge and confidence to review radiographic techniques and recognise radiographic patterns of trauma and injury commonly encountered for each body area.  Interactive multimedia live group sessions are undertaken with lectures.  All lectures are presented by radiologists, specialists in the field of medical imaging.

Module 1 - X-Ray principles & terminology, Interpretation of the cervical, thoracic & lumbar spine

Module 2 - Interpretation of the pelvis, hip, knee, ankle, hindfoot, midfoot & forefoot

Module 3 - Interpretation of the shoulder, elbow, wrist & hand

Module 4 - Interpretation of the face, skull, abdomen, paediatric points & non-accidental injury (NAI)

Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy: 15 CPD points

Australian College of Rural & Remote Medicine: 30 PRPD, 30 Radiology MOPS, 30 Emergency MOPS. Procedural grant: 1 day emergency. (ACRRM ID: ACRRM ID: 10112 Sydney; 11243 Nihiwatu; 11240 Perth; 10474 Melbourne)

Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists: Participants in the ANZCA CPD program, may claim this course under the Knowledge and skills activity Learning sessions at 1 credit per hour.

Australian Orthopaedic Association: Bali 8 points, Niseko 4 points plus 4 hours of case reviews worth CPD points towards your personal CPD), Sydney 9 Points.

College of Emergency Medicine (UK): 6 CPD points (Category 1) (UK courses only)

College of Intensive Care Medicine: Pre-course learning: Category 1A: Passive Self Learning, 1 point per hour. Lectures: Category 2A: Passive Group Learning, 1 point per hour. Facilitated discussions, Workshops: Category 2B: Active or Interactive Small Group Learning Activities, 2 points per hour.

Royal Australian College of General Practitioners: 40 points (Activity 75126 - Category 1/Radiology & Surgery). Training Grant approved for 1 day of Emergency.

Royal Australasian College of Surgeons: 6 Points in Maintenance of Knowledge and Skills (Excludes Nihiwatu 2018).

The Royal Australasian College of Physicians : Recommended MyCPD category 2 - ‘Assessed Learning’ at 2 credits per hour (course length 6 hours face to face, 2 hours online).

The Royal College of Radiologists (UK): This course provides 6 CPD credits in accordance with the CPD Scheme of the Royal College of Radiologists

Lightbox Radiology Education does not offer refunds, transfers or credits for our online courses.

Radiology Courses

If you have registered and paid for a course that you can no longer attend, please select a form to complete then email to admin@lightboxradiology.com at least 2 weeks before your course commencement date. (Please note: we do not offer credits/transfers or refunds on our custom courses)

Transfers / Credits
Applications for a course transfer/credit must be made at least 2 weeks before your course commencement date. A fee of $50 applies to all course transfers/credits. Please fill out our Transfer/Credit form and forward to admin@lightboxradiology.com.  If the application for a transfer/credit is made within 2 weeks to your course, all funds will be forfeited or you must find another attendee to take your place.

Course credits are valid for 12 months from the original payment date. You must ensure you enroll and attend this course held within that 12 month period. All courses are subject to availability. Course credits are not transferable to other attendees & cannot be refunded.

Refunds
Applications for a course refund must be made at least 2 weeks before your course commencement date. A fee of $150 applies for all refunds. Please complete our Refund Form and forward to admin@lightboxradiology.com.  If the application for a refund is made within 2 weeks to your course, all funds will be forfeited or you must find another attendee to take your place.

Course Cancellation
In the unlikely event a course is cancelled due to exceptional circumstances, Lightbox Radiology Education will provide (where possible) alternative dates for the course; a credit note towards future courses or a full refund.

Lightbox Radiology Education will not be liable for any additional costs, above the course fee, incurred due to a course cancellation.
