About this course

Course cost: US$680

A comprehensive overview of X-Ray, Ultrasound, CT, and MRI imaging interpretation of commonly encountered disease in the critical care setting.

The course covers imaging of the head, chest and abdomen/pelvis in 5 modules. Each module is composed of a didactic lecture followed by an interactive case review session and quiz across X-Ray, Ultrasound, CT and MRI to consolidate fundamental principles of imaging interpretation. 

Laptops

Lightbox Radiology Education courses include a variety of interactive sessions to cement the learning objectives.  Our materials are both Mac and PC compatible and it is recommended that you bring your own laptop to your course or arrange to share a laptop with a friend during the interactive sessions.

ICU physicians, Emergency physicians, ICU & Emergency Registrars, Radiographers. It is assumed participants have at least a basic understanding of imaging interpretation or have attended Chest X-Ray, Emergency X-Ray or Acute Medical & Surgical CT Interpretation Courses in the past.

Pre-course:

Pre-test

Pre-course Modules: CT Anatomy - Abdomen and Pelvis; CT Anatomy - Brain; CT Anatomy - Cervical Spine; CT Anatomy - Chest; Introduction to CT; Introduction to MRI; Introduction to Ultrasound; Introduction to X-Ray. 

Course:

Module 1: Imaging of the Brain & Skull – CT & MRI: Haemorrhage, Herniation, DAI, Infarction & Infection: Technique, Review of acute pathology including clinical aspects, imaging findings, pitfalls and complications. 

Module 2: Imaging of the Chest – X-Ray, Ultrasound, & CT (Part 1): Cardiomediastinum: Technique, Review of acute pathology including clinical aspects, imaging findings, pitfalls and complications.

Module 3: Imaging of the Chest – X-Ray, Ultrasound, & CT (Part 2): Airways, Lungs & Pleura: Technique, Review of acute pathology including clinical aspects, imaging findings, pitfalls and complications.

Module 4: Imaging of the Abdomen/Pelvis – X-Ray, Ultrasound, CT & MRI (Part 1): Solid Viscera: Technique, Review of acute pathology including clinical aspects, imaging findings, pitfalls and complications.

Module 5: Imaging of the Abdomen/Pelvis – X-Ray, Ultrasound, CT & MRI (Part 2): Hollow Viscera, Vessels, Retroperitoneum and Nodes: Technique, Review of acute pathology including clinical aspects, imaging findings, pitfalls and complications.

You will be required to bring a PC or MAC laptop to the course.

Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists: Participants of the ANZCA and FPM CPD program may claim time under the Knowledge and skills ‘Short format learning’ activity for short course, workshops, problem-based learning discussions and small group discussion.  Online learning can be claimed under the Knowledge and skills ‘Learning sessions’ activity.

Australian College for Emergency Medicine: Approved for 17.5 ACEM CPD hours;

Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy: 7.5 CPD Credits per half day Formal Education

College of Intensive Care Medicine:  Lectures – Category 2A, points per hour 1; Active or interactive Group Learning – Category 2B, points per hour 1.

Royal Australian College of General Practitioners: Activity Id: 396703  - CPD Accredited activity; 5.5hrs educational activities, 5.5hrs reviewing performance, total 11hrs

Royal Australasian College of Physicians:  Fellows of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) can claim CPD credits for this activity in MyCPD.

Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists: 10.5 CPD hours may be claimed for attendance at the Critical Care Imaging Interpretation Course to be held 14-15 May 2022; and 5 CPD hours for pre-course work; 10 CPD hours may be claimed for attendance at the Critical Care Imaging Interpretation Course to be held in Fiji 18-22 July 2022; and 5 CPD hours for pre-course work.

Lightbox Radiology Education offers Transfers, Credits and Refunds on most courses - Excludes Custom Courses

Online Courses

Lightbox Radiology Education does not offer refunds, transfers or credits for our online courses.

Radiology Courses

If you have registered and paid for a course that you can no longer attend, please select a form to complete then email to admin@lightboxradiology.com at least 2 weeks before your course commencement date. (Please note: we do not offer credits/transfers or refunds on our custom courses)

Transfers / Credits
Applications for a course transfer/credit must be made at least 2 weeks before your course commencement date. A fee of $50 applies to all course transfers/credits. Please fill out our Transfer/Credit form and forward to admin@lightboxradiology.com.  If the application for a transfer/credit is made within 2 weeks to your course, all funds will be forfeited or you must find another attendee to take your place.

Course credits are valid for 12 months from the original payment date. You must ensure you enroll and attend this course held within that 12 month period. All courses are subject to availability. Course credits are not transferable to other attendees & cannot be refunded.

Refunds
Applications for a course refund must be made at least 2 weeks before your course commencement date. A fee of $150 applies for all refunds. Please complete our Refund Form and forward to admin@lightboxradiology.com.  If the application for a refund is made within 2 weeks to your course, all funds will be forfeited or you must find another attendee to take your place.

Course Cancellation
In the unlikely event a course is cancelled due to exceptional circumstances, Lightbox Radiology Education will provide (where possible) alternative dates for the course; a credit note towards future courses or a full refund.

Lightbox Radiology Education will not be liable for any additional costs, above the course fee, incurred due to a course cancellation.
