Ultrasound - Guided Regional Anaesthesia Workshop

About this course

Course cost: US$1050

This online course and 1 day workshop teaches the fundamentals of ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia.

With a combination of online modules prior to a 1 day hands-on workshop, this course is designed to give participants an overview of the techniques of ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia of the neck, upper limb, lower limb, and trunk, as well as principles of ultrasound guided interventional techniques.  Prior to commencing the course, the online materials are to be completed. During this hands-on workshop you will be supervised in needle placement on cadavers and phantoms, and scanning on live models supervised by Anaesthetists, Radiologists, and Sonographers.

Pre Course:

Pre course test

Module 1 - Sonographic appearances & terminology.  Ultrasound guided central venous access. Introduction to Ultrasound Guided Regional Anaesthesia. Blocks of the Head & Neck. 

Module 2 - Blocks of the Upper Limb. 

Module 3 - Blocks of the Lower Limb & Trunk. 

Hands-On Workshop:

Module 1 - Sonographic appearances & terminology. Safety. Knobology & system functionality.

Module 2 - Ultrasound guided Central venous access with Phantoms.

Module 3 - Sonographic review of Normal Anatomy of the Neck & Upper Limb on Live Models.

Module 4 - Blocks of the Head & Neck & Upper Limb on Cadavers.

Module 5 - Blocks of the Head & Neck & Upper Limb on Cadavers.

Module 6 - Ultrasound guided Needle Technique on Phantoms.

Module 7 - Sonographic review of Normal Anatomy of the Trunk & Lower Limb on Live Models.

Module 8 - Blocks of the Trunk & Lower Limb on Cadavers.

Module 9 - Blocks of the Trunk & Lower Limb on Cadavers.

Continuing Professional Development

Australian College for Emergency Medicine: Online Modules - 1 CPD hour (Self-Directed Learning) per hour spent (approx 6 hours). Hands-On Workshop - 6.25 ACEM CPD hours.

Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists: Participants of the ANZCA and FPM CPD program may claim time under the Knowledge and skills ‘Short format learning’ activity for short course, workshops, problem-based learning discussions and small group discussion.  Online learning can be claimed under the Knowledge and skills ‘Learning sessions’ activity.

Australian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine: Online Modules - 6 points. Hands-On Workshop - 6.25 points.

Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry: Online modules 5.5 CPD Points under category 3A. Hands-On Workshop: 6.25 CPD Points under category 3A.

Australasian Sonographers Association: Onlline Lecture: 5.5 ASAR Credits/PD-asa points under ASAR Code 4, Hands-On Workshop: 6.25 ASAR =Credits/PD-asa points under ASAR Category 2.  

Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists: Online lectures and Hands-On Workshop a total of 20 points may be claimed. For anyone who attends only part of this course, points may be claimed pro rata at 1 point per hour for lectures and 3 points per hour for workshops.

Lightbox Radiology Education does not offer refunds, transfers or credits for our online courses.

Radiology Courses

If you have registered and paid for a course that you can no longer attend, please select a form to complete then email to admin@lightboxradiology.com at least 2 weeks before your course commencement date. (Please note: we do not offer credits/transfers or refunds on our custom courses)

Transfers / Credits
Applications for a course transfer/credit must be made at least 2 weeks before your course commencement date. A fee of $50 applies to all course transfers/credits. Please fill out our Transfer/Credit form and forward to admin@lightboxradiology.com.  If the application for a transfer/credit is made within 2 weeks to your course, all funds will be forfeited or you must find another attendee to take your place.

Course credits are valid for 12 months from the original payment date. You must ensure you enroll and attend this course held within that 12 month period. All courses are subject to availability. Course credits are not transferable to other attendees & cannot be refunded.

Refunds
Applications for a course refund must be made at least 2 weeks before your course commencement date. A fee of $150 applies for all refunds. Please complete our Refund Form and forward to admin@lightboxradiology.com.  If the application for a refund is made within 2 weeks to your course, all funds will be forfeited or you must find another attendee to take your place.

Course Cancellation
In the unlikely event a course is cancelled due to exceptional circumstances, Lightbox Radiology Education will provide (where possible) alternative dates for the course; a credit note towards future courses or a full refund.

Lightbox Radiology Education will not be liable for any additional costs, above the course fee, incurred due to a course cancellation.
